Special Events

11th CAUSEWAY SCRABBLE CHALLENGE

Michael Tang’s first Causeway event was held in Malacca in 2001 between 10 players representing Singapore playing against 10 Malaysian players. The event rapidly grew to become the most important team event on the international Scrabble tournament calendar, with teams from Thailand, Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, India, United States, Britain, Nigeria and Canada competing at one point or another. At its peak the Causeway ran to three divisions and several hundred players.

After a hiatus of 3 years, the 11th Causeway is being run to the compact original Singapore v Malaysia format at the Bishan Mind Sports Festival. The 2014 teams are listed below. The players between them have won numerous national and international titles. The Malaysian team will be led by Nigel Richards, currently World and US champion.

Venue: Seminar Room, Level 4
Date:    5th - 6th July 2014
Time:   9:00am - 7:00
